TheShadow
Where cultures meet, stories are shared, and love for art and identity takes centre stage. We connect people through events, performances, workshops, artistic collaborations and a strong community that celebrates creativity and diversity. We focus on building bridges across the rich patchwork of subcultures and creatives of the Netherlands, through music, dance and shared experiences.
The Arabian Flavour
One of our most celebrated projects, The Arabian Flavour, has become a cultural phenomenon in the Netherlands. What began as a monthly gathering, has grown into a sold-out yearly festival and club-night that celebrates the Arabic culture in all of its senses: Music, dance, food, souq and/or stories. We also bring the Arabic energy to various festivals, theaters, venues and events through performances, workshops, and collaborations. We’ve proudly been part of major platforms such as Down The Rabbit Hole, Festival Op de Ring (750 years Amsterdam), Van Gogh Museum and numerous local events like Blend Festival or Heart for Palestine.
Collaboration
TheShadow has experience working at renowned venues such as Tolhuistuin, Oosterkerk, Club Up, Sissi’s, AFAS, Westergasfabriek, Tivoli Vredenburg, Expo Greater and various theaters, circus companies and festivals across the Netherlands. We’ve also teamed up with well-known artists and influencers like Yaman Najjar and DJ HabibiBeats, amplifying our reach and impact both locally and internationally.

Shadow
is the founder, director and creative producer of TheShadow. Dutch-syrian with Damuscus' roots and many years of experience as a professional dancer, acrobat and running his projects. He does everything from production, programming, networking and promotion to hosting, dancing, DJ'ing, workshops and performances that will blow your mind!
Koutaiba
Originally from Yemen and raised in Saudi Arabia, Koutaiba is one of the creative forces behind our projects. From developing concepts to bringing ideas to life, he’s always there with dedication and a big smile. His friendly presence and positive energy makes everyone feel at home. Besides his studies in IT, Koutaiba has a strong talent for hosting workshops and events.
Lot
is the business manager and founding member of TheShadow. A creative producer from the Netherlands with a background in filmmaking, dramaturgy, theatre and festivals. She is mainly responsible for the overall management: Planning, PR, finances, fundraising, text writing, locations and bookings. When she can, she likes to design (like this website ;))
Ahmed
both the newest and one of the oldest members of our team: a familiar face returning from Lebanon, where he worked with us as an acrobat. Now based in Amsterdam, he’s expanding his skills in event production and on his journey to become a DJ. He has a natural talent for leading workshops, especially with children; his energy, humor, and passion light up every space.
